HUNTINGTON, W.Va. The Herald-Dispatch newspaper says publisher Pat Thompson Frantz is retiring for a second time and will be replaced by executive editor Ed Dawson.
The Huntington-based newspaper reported the changes Sunday.
The 65-year-old Frantz joined The Herald-Dispatch in 2003 from the Great Falls Tribune in Montana. She retired in 2005, but returned the following year. Frantz's retirement takes effect in September.
The 59-year-old Dawson took over as The Herald-Dispatch's executive editor in 2001 after stints at newspapers in Pennsylvania, the Carolinas and Georgia. He will continue as editor.
The Herald-Dispatch has a daily circulation of about 28,000 and Sunday circulation of about 33,000. It was acquired by Huntington-based printing and office furniture company Champion Industries in late 2007.
