Voyager Media Buys Enterprise Publications

NEW YORK Voyager Media has agreed to acquire Enterprise Publications based in Plainfield, Ill. The transaction includes the Plainfield Enterprise, the Plainfield Advantage and the Shorewood Sentinel.

Voyager also operates the weekly group Bugle Newspapers, covering the west and northwest suburbs of Chicago.

"The addition of the Enterprise group will strengthen our news coverage in Will County and allow us to expand our local coverage across all of our newspapers," Rich Masterson, CEO of Voyager Media and Bugle Newspapers' publisher, said in a statement.

Voyager has been on an acquisition streak of late. In 2003 it bought the Bugle Newspapers from the Besser family, expanding the publication to cover more areas. It added newspapers to its group in various transactions during the past four years.

Terms of the Enterprise deal were not disclosed.
