NEW YORK The Register Citizen in Torrington, Conn., has named Liz Strillacci its new managing editor. Additionally, Bernie Re is taking on the new position of online sales manager.

Bob Reneson, who most recently served as circulation director, has been named classified advertising manager, while Timothy Lee, previously an advertising sales representative, will take over as circulation director.

A resident of New Hartford, Conn., Strillacci has nearly 20 years of experience with community journalism, and was previously a police and courts reporter for the New Britain Herald. She is succeeding Viktoria Sundqvist, who became the editor of The Middletown (Conn.) Press earlier this fall. Both papers are owned by Journal Register Co.

Re’s new position of online sales manager was recently created to manage the growth of the Register Citizen’s Web site, which has more than 1 million page views per month (registercitizen.com). He has previously worked at papers in Utica, N.Y., Lawrence, Kan., and Sioux City, Iowa, and served as vice president of interactive at New England Newspapers Inc., a company that includes three daily newspapers and several weeklies in Massachusetts and Vermont.

Reneson had served as circulation director for the past three years. Prior to joining the staff, he was circulation director at The Middletown Press. He is succeeding former classified advertising manager Donna Musler, who is now an advertising sales representative for the paper.

Before becoming the circulation manager for the Register Citizen, Lee worked as an advertising sales representative and a home delivery district manager in the circulation department.
