NEW YORK The IREX digital reader plans to offer consumers access to more than 1,100 magazines and newspapers such as The Austin American-Statesman, The Washington Post, and The New York Times through partnerships with NewspaperDirect and LibreDigital.
“A key part of our strategy is to provide no-hassle access to a variety of content, and adding these industry leaders is a significant step in that direction,” Kevin Hamilton, North American CEO of IREX, said in a statement.
The IREX DR800SG is an 8.1-inch e-reader with touchscreen capabilities and 3G wireless connectivity via Verizon and Qualcomm. IREX supports multiple formats including the ePub.
IREX users will also have access to Barnes & Noble’s eBookstore.
