NEW YORK Online business news publisher bizjournals Inc. has chosen Caspio Inc., Mountain View, Calif., to supply its enterprise solution for building and deploying database-driven cloud applications.

The arrangement "will help us leverage the vast array of proprietary data products we produce in print, as well as open new doors for our reporters to share more data and analysis with our readers online," bizjournals Executive Editor Huntley Paton said in a statement. "Up to now, we haven't had the right tool to bring our research projects to life on the Web."

The online media division of American City Business Journals operates a Web site for each of the parent company's print journals and a Web-only site for the Los Angeles area.

Offering platform-as-a-service since 2000, Caspio's platform incorporates an enterprise-grade database, point-and-click tools for rapid application creation, and a scalable infrastructure for high-traffic Web applications. Customers have access to 24-hour professional support, private online training, free project consultations and service-level guarantees.
