'Monroe Evening News' is First on Saxotech Mediaware Cloud

By E&P Staff

Published: October 30, 2009 2:00 PM ET

NEW YORK The Monroe (Mich.) Evening News and weekly Bedford Now are the first publications in live production with the managed hosted Mediaware Center from Tampa-based Saxotech.

Designed to support digital and print channels, the managed hosted Mediaware Center affords "significant efficiencies in all aspects of the production of editorial products through the creation of a fully integrated digital and print newsroom in a managed, hosted environment," according to Saxotech.

Relying on Saxotech's scalable cloud environment, both titles can use the latest Saxotech software functionality and the latest hosting technology without buying and maintaining new servers. The arrangement also allows for automatic software upgrades, behind-the-scenes maintenance and server support, as well as automated resource balancing and monitoring.

Saxotech's managed hosting also provides full Web integration, creating a virtual newsroom. Reporters, photographers and editors have full Mediaware Center functionality from any location at any time, aiding efficiency and collaboration.
