NEW YORK Early Saturday morning The Pontiac (Ill.) Daily Leader's 41-year-old Goss Community press ran its last copy of the GateHouse Media paper before printing was taken over Monday by its larger sister paper, the Peoria Journal Star, about 60 miles to the west.
It was first time in its 140-year history that the afternoon Daily Leader was not printed in Pontiac, the paper reported.
Circulation at the Daily Leader, which publishes Monday through Thursday and Saturday, has been under 5,000 copies according to the latest information carried in the Editor & Publisher International Year Book.
Printing of the Livingston Shopping News, also published by The Leader, already had moved to the Peoria plant. E&P Staff
