By E&P Staff

Published: October 23, 2009 12:50 PM ET

NEW YORK The Juneau (Alaska) Empire has appointed Mark Bryan its new publisher.

Bryan most recently spent five years as publisher of the Newport (Ore.) News-Times. He relieves temporary publisher Jeff Wilson, who came out of retirement in Georgia to serve as publisher while a replacement was found.

No stranger to the Yellowhammer State, Bryan managed the circulation departments at the Anchorage Times and Anchorage Daily News. A University of Idaho at Moscow alumnus, he has also managed circulation departments for The Daily News in Longview, Wash., the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle in Cheyenne, Wyo., and the Lewiston Morning Tribune in Lewiston, Idaho.
