Media News Group to Launch 'Longmont Ledger' This Sunday

By E&P Staff

NEW YORK Denver Post parent company Media News Group is launching a new weekly community newspaper this weekend in Colorado.

The Longmont Ledger will make its debut on Sunday as a free insert in the Boulder Daily Camera and The Denver Post. It will be published weekly and will provide news, features, sports coverage, and community announcements for the city of Longmont, about 40 miles north of Denver.

Its Web site, longmontledger.com, and its Twitter account, twitter.com/longmontledger, are already up and running.

The paper is named after another local newspaper that operated for nearly a century before folding in the 1970s. Roughly 25,000 papers will be delivered to readers and another 2,000 will be available at drop-off locations throughout the city.
