Published: October 27, 2009 10:31 AM ET

NEW YORK The New York Times announced on Tuesday the launch of its international news supplement in Turkey.

The New York Times International Weekly is compiled and edited by a team from The New York Times News Service and is translated into Turkish by a team from Sabah, a local Turkish paper. It will be available for free along with the Sunday edition of Sabah.

The Times’ global edition was first introduced in 2002 and includes news, features, commentary and photography focused on the United States, business, trends and world affairs, all in the same layout and style as The Times.

“We are very excited and honored to align our newspaper Sabah with the world's most prestigious newspaper, The New York Times,” Suna Vidinli, chief communications officer of Calik-Turkuvaz Media Group, which owns Sabah, said in a statement.
