NEW YORK Pam Maples, former managing editor of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, has joined Newsy.com as vice president of editorial, according to an announcement.

The release from Newsy.com describes itself as a "multi-source online and mobile video news service."

"Pam's editorial vision and proven ability for building innovative news products will propel Newsy.com to the leadership position for multi-source news," Jim Spencer, president of Newsy.com, said in a statement. "We are thrilled to have attracted such a remarkable and respected news and editorial leader who will deliver multi-source news where, when and how our viewers want it."

Prior to St. Louis, Maples was assistant managing editor of investigations at The Dallas Morning News and a 2006 Knight Fellow in Journalism at Stanford University, the release added.
