'Las Vegas Sun' Managing Editor to Leave by Year's End

NEW YORK Las Vegas Sun Managing Editor Michael J. Kelley on Tuesday announced his retirement to the paper's staff.

Kelley will leave the paper by the end of the year and his position will be filled in the interim by former Rocky Mountain News editor/publisher John Temple, though Temple told the Las Vegas Review-Journal he would just be working in an “advisory” position with Greenspun Media Group.

Kelley, 67, has worked at the Sun since 1997. During his time as managing editor the paper won a Pulitzer Prize for public service in 2008.
Kelley told the Review-Journal that he had informed Sun Editor Brian Greenspun during the summer of his decision to retire.

The Sun also announced to its staff on Tuesday that it will soon be moving to a different building and consolidating some of its Greenspun Media Group departments.
