July 02, 2009 - Shelley Ridenour has been appointed editor and publisher of the Pauls Valley (Okla.) Daily Democrat. Ridenour most recently worked as a media consultant for Wyoming Inc., a Lander, Wyo., public relations and advertising agency.

Clay Foster Named Publisher of 'Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal'
July 01, 2009 - Clay Foster has been appointed publisher of the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal in Tupelo. Foster was named president of parent company Journal Publishing in 2006. He succeeds Billy Crews, who had served as publisher since 1989.

Kirk MacDonald Returns to Denver Newspaper Agency as Exec. Sales VP
June 30, 2009 - Kirk MacDonald has returned to the Denver Newspaper Agency as executive vice president in charge of sales, marketing and digital sales, effective July 9. MacDonald served the DNA in various capacities from 1989 through 1997, and was its president and CEO from 2000 to 2006. He most recently served as chief operating officer of the Creative Loafing chain of alt-weeklies.

Kathie Obradovich Named 'Des Moines Register' Political Columnist
June 26, 2009 - Kathie Obradovich has been named The Des Moines Register's new political columnist. Obradovich has been the Register's political editor since September 2003. She succeeds David Yepsen, who left the position earlier this year to become the director of the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

John Dillon Appointed Publisher of 'Argus Observer'
June 22, 2009 - John Dillon has been appointed publisher of the Argus Observer in Ontario, Ore. Dillon is promoted from advertising director, a post he has held since 2003. He succeeds Steve Krehl, who has retired.

Paul M. Keep Named 'Grand Rapids Press' Editor
June 22, 2009 - Paul M. Keep has been named editor of The Grand Rapids (Mich.) Press. Previously, Keep served as publisher and editor of The Muskegon Chronicle. He succeeds Mike Lloyd, who is retiring at the end of this month after serving 31 years in the position.

Jonay Corley Named 'Tyler Star News' Editor
June 18, 2009 - Jonay (Kelly) Corley has been named editor of the Tyler Star News in Sistersville, W.Va. Corley was a reporter for The Intelligencer and Wheeling News-Register before joining the Tyler Star News as a staff writer in July 2008.


Christopher Rowland Named 'Boston Globe' Washington Bureau Chief
June 16, 2009 - Christopher Rowland has been named Washington bureau chief for The Boston Globe. Rowland, 47, joined the Globe in 2001 and has served as political editor for the past two years.

June 15, 2009 - Lorie Love has been named editor of the Richmond (Ky.) Register. Love is promoted from assistant editor. She succeeds Jim Todd.

David Clemons Named Editor, Publisher of Two Georgia Papers
June 15, 2009 - David Clemons has been named editor and publisher of The Walton (Ga.) Tribune and The Loganville Tribune in Monroe, Ga. Previously, he served as managing editor of The Sand Mountain Reporter in Albertville, Ala. Clemons succeeds Patrick Graham, who left to become editor and publisher of The Paris (Texas) News.

Peter Canellos Named 'Boston Globe' Editorial Page Editor
June 11, 2009 - Peter Canellos is the new editorial page editor for The Boston Globe, and will oversee the Ideas section. Canellos most recently was the Globe's Washington bureau chief. He succeeds Renee Loth, who will serve as a weekly columnist for the Op-Ed page.

Jennifer Brown Named Editor of 'Kentucky New Era'
June 10, 2009 - Jennifer Brown has been named editor of the Kentucky New Era in Hopkinsville. Brown, who started at the paper 24 years ago as an intern, most recently served as deputy editor. She succeeds Laura Noeth, who served as editor from January 2005 until April.

June 05, 2009 - Chris Jennewein has been appointed president of the San Diego News Network. Jennewein most recently served as senior vice president and publisher of Greenspun Interactive.

Africa Price Named 'Shreveport Times' Exec. Editor
June 02, 2009 - Africa Price has been named executive editor of the Shreveport (La.) Times. Previously, she was managing editor of the Tallahassee Democrat.

Olga Peña Named 'Killeen Daily Herald' M.E.
June 01, 2009 - Olga Peña has been named managing editor of the Killeen (Texas) Daily Herald. Since 2008 Peña has been assistant managing editor/regional news, serving as editor of both the Fort Hood Herald and the Cove Herald.
