E&P's 10th Annual Photos of the Year Contest
An extraordinary entry this year from The Denver Post, "Ian Fisher: American Soldier," gained the nod — and the $1,000 award — as the Grand Prize winner of E&P's 10th annual Photos of the Year contest. This was the first time that video/ multimedia entries were judged, and the Post's extensive package for that category vaulted right to the top. Despite budget cuts at most newspapers, the number and quality of entries this year remained strong. Other first-time categories: Portraits and Unpublished Photos. Also for the first time this year we sponsored a People's Choice award, and the online voting proved extremely popular. Check out our gallery of winners and honorable mentions.
