(AP) An agreement has been finalized that will let LexisNexis acquire CourtLink Corp. Terms of the deal, which is subject to approval by CourtLink shareholders, were not released, the companies said Wednesday.
The Dayton-based LexisNexis provides information and research services for corporate, government, and education markets.
CourtLink, based in Bellevue, Wash., provides electronic-access services that enable users to search and retrieve case information from more than 200 million court records in 1,400 federal, state, and local court systems through a single online source.
Users include law firms, banks, insurance and title companies, screening and investigation agencies, and the media.
CourtLink will continue to operate from its Bellevue headquarters after the acquisition, operating as a separate business unit of LexisNexis.
“We firmly believe the online services and emerging markets CourtLink has pioneered will bring tremendous value to the legal profession at large,” said Lou Andreozzi, president of LexisNexis’ North American Legal Markets division.
