Management Changes at ‘Dallas Morning News’

Just days after its parent company announced it was cutting 250 jobs, The Dallas Morning News has made three management changes.

Laura Bloom Gordon, 41, has been promoted from managing director of new product development for the newspaper and its free tabloid daily, Quick, to senior vice president/marketing. Gordon will continue in her role as Quick’s publisher.

Bob Mong, who has served as the Morning News’ president and editor, will now work only in the capacity of editor. Publisher and chief executive Jim Moroney said he made the change to allow Mong to focus his time on the newspaper’s editorial product.

Jason Kays, 32, who has previously been vice president of advertising marketing, was promoted to vice president/circulation.
