The New York Times will reinstate its paywall on Friday after Hurricane Sandy caused the paper to provide readers with free online access.

As Hurricane Sandy pummeled its way across the East Coast earlier this week, major New York-based newspapers—including the Times, Wall Street Journal and Newsday—dropped their paywalls to provide readers with comprehensive coverage on the storm.
