Former Tribune Media Group President Vince Casanova Dies at 60

By: Robert Channick | Chicago Tribune

During his long and successful career as an executive with the Chicago Tribune, Vince Casanova rose from auditor to president, where he oversaw the flagship newspaper and a host of other media properties.

When he announced his retirement in March after more than 33 years, his legacy included a far more diversified publishing business and hundreds of colleagues whose careers and lives were bolstered by his support.

Diagnosed with cancer just weeks before his scheduled retirement party in May, Casanova, 60, died early Wednesday at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
