John M. Roman, Retired Daily Times Reporter, Dies at 73

John M. Roman, 73, of the Havertown section of Haverford, a retired prize-winning reporter and columnist for the Delaware County Daily Times and a novelist, died Sept. 3 at Bryn Mawr Hospital.

 

Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Roman was a resident of Havertown for more than 30 years. A 1960 graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School where he was editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, Mr. Roman earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Temple University in Philadelphia in 1972 while working the night shift at the Daily Times’ original office in Chester. He was a veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard.
