By: Staff Reports

WeMedia Promises 11 Days Of Net Coverage

Move over, NBC. Take a hike, IOC.

The Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games begin on Oct. 18 and for 11 days
will be Webcast live by WeMedia, a Web site for people with
disabilities.

Rick Gentile and Jay Rosenstein, both former top executives at CBS
Sports, will be supervising the coverage along with Arthur Pincus,
a former sports editor at The New York Times and The Washington
Post who is now vice president of content for WeMedia Sports.

The Paralympics – the name means ‘parallel Olympics,’ by the way –
will take place in the same venues as the Sydney 2000 Summer Games,
which will have concluded. Among the 18 events will be track and
field competitions, swimming, weightlifting, and wheelchair
basketball. Deals for taped highlights and programming have also
been made with the Fox, PAX, and CBS networks.
