Adobe Systems’ Photoshop CS3 will come in two versions, one for photographers, and the other for cross-media applications, the company announced last week.
CS3 Extended will have all features included in Photoshop CS3, Adobe’s overhaul of its image editing software, plus a new set of capabilities for integration of 3-D and motion graphics, image measurement and analysis. Graphic and Web designers, as well as film, video and multimedia professionals can use the tools to edit 3-D and motion-based content. In particular, graphic and Web designers can create an animation from a series of images — such as time-series data — and export it to a wide variety of formats, including QuickTime, MPEG-4 and Adobe Flash Video.
Adobe will introduce Photoshop CS3 and Photoshop CS3 Extended software late this month. Final shipping releases of the applications are slated for late spring.
