Spain’s largest contract printer, Corporation Bermont, with nine plants operating more than 30 presses, has again turned to the Integrated Print Automation solution from Madrid-based 3TControl for its register management needs.
The order, for a Mitsubishi press being expanded in Seville, follows installations of 3TControl’s product on the group’s Goss Universal and Mitsubishi presses at other sites.
“We are joining two presses together to increase capacity at our Seville plant, and are taking advantage of the change to replace the original register control system with 3TControl’s Integrated Print Automation system, Bermont Technical Director Ignacio Villanueva explained. “In Seville, we have taken motorized register management for now, but have the flexibility to upgrade the 3T product to include density management in the future using the same hardware.”
3TControl also is helping Bermont start up a manroland Newsman press line bought from News International in 2007. The 3T IPA system will be specially adapted and used to give operators a user-friendly tool to control ink and dampening on the doublewide satellite press.
Corporation Bermont is a joint venture of Grupo Bermont and Unidad Editorial, the large Spanish media group owned by Italy’s RCS (see April E&P).
