For its new plant in California, Transcontinental bought six Quipp Packman II packaging systems. It is the latest sale of the system that stacks, wraps, prints and straps in a single operation.
Brazil’s Rede Anhanguera de Comunicacao, which prints Correio Popular and Diario do Povo in Campinas, bought a Quipp Model 500 stacker — the first of the model in the country, where Miami-based Quipp has several customers, among them O Dia, Rio de Janeiro, Correio do Povo, Porto Alegre, Jornal do Comercio, Recife, and Grupo Sinos, Novo Hamburgo.
After installing two Model 501 stackers last year, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has purchased five more for installation this summer.
The Press-Enterprise in Riverside, Calif., in the next few months will install a Quipp Twin-Trak conveyor systems and three Model 501 stackers. A Quipp customer since 1987, the Belo paper already uses Quipp conveyors, stackers, wrappers, and three Packman systems.
Quipp also is suppying The Arizona Republic with web-reduction kits for its installed Quipp equipment. The order consists of stacker spacer kits for nine Quipp Model 351s and 19 Model 401s, 28 stream aligner kits, 112 horizontal module kits for Twin-Trak belt conveyor lines, and special spacing-modification kits to handle light products.
