Lee Reeder has been named editor of the Lake Arrowhead (Calif.) Mountain-News.
A former Army public information officer who served in Germany, Reeder was editor of The Blackhorse, the official publication of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment. Following 10 years in the Army, Reeder took his first civilian job as a beat reporter for The Enterprise in Fallbrook, Calif. In 1986. Four months later he was promoted to editor in chief.
A year later, Reeder was asked to become the first editor of Rescue, a new start-up national magazine for rescue professionals, where he spent seven years. He reported from the scenes of both the Loma Prieta Earthquake in San Francisco in 1989 and the Northridge Earthquake in 1994, for the publication.
In 2003 and 2004, Reeder wrote and reported for the Crestline Courier-News and The Mountain-News, penning a column in the Courier-News and covering news and local events for both papers.
