(AP) The Aberdeen American News’ executive editor is retiring next month after 36 years at the newspaper.
Cindy Eikamp plans to retire Oct. 7, and the newspaper has already named a replacement.
Eikamp has been executive editor at the newspaper since 1989. Before that she spend five years as managing editor, and she worked as a reporter at the newspaper for 10 years.
J.J. Perry, assistant managing editor of The Bloomington (Ind.) Herald-Times, will take over as executive editor in Aberdeen on Oct. 11.
