ABUZZ ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENTS

New York Times Digital Group Appoints Four



Abuzz, a Web site owned by New York Times Digital, named four executives Thursday.



John A. Capello, vice president of products, was promoted to general manager. He will
report to David A. Thurm, chief operating officer of The New York Times Co.’s Internet
division.



Russell Neufeld was promoted from software architect to CTO. He is charged with further
integrating Abuzz with the company’s other Web sites.



Randy Brandenburg joins Abuzz as vice president of engineering. He comes from Raytheon
Systems Co.



Liesel Pollvogt rejoins Abuzz as vice president of marketing after serving in a similar
position at YouthStream Media Networks. Prior to that, she worked closely with the
founding members of Abuzz.



New York Times Digital includes The New York Times on the Web, boston.com, and NYToday.
