Acutech LLC, Elkhart, Ind., recently sold No Tool offset locks to newspapers in Warren, Ohio, Hagerstown, Md., South Bend, Ind., Altoona and Williamsport, Pa., and Bremerton, Wash.
The Chicago Sun-Times ordered plateroom conveyors, bar-code sortation stackers, an optical punch bender and 42-position stackers for its Ashland, Plainfield and Northfield plants as part of its computer-to-plate installation.
In Canton, Ohio, The Repository also bought plateroom conveyors and a 12-position bar-code sortation stacker.
The company recently installed 3/2 in-line edge punch benders at Tribune-Review Publishing Co.’s Newsworks facility in Warrendale, Pa., and a 2/1 converted punch bender at the Tribune Review, Greensburg, Pa.
Four-pin magnetic flexo locks went into The Charlotte (N.C.) Observer and The Press of Atlantic City, Pleasantville, N.J.
Conversions of existing punch benders to a 48-inch web width were preformed at the Los Angeles Times’ Olympic plant and at The Greenville (S.C.) News.
A total of 600 No Tool locks were installed in St.Paul, Minn., and Sacramento, Walnut Creek, and San Jose, Calif.
The company also has added 8,000 square feet of assembly space and is diversifying into products outside the graphic arts.
