At Digital Innovators’ Summit, Adobe today announced it expects to integrate the Medialets mobile advertising platform software developer kit (SDK) with Adobe® Content Viewer software in the Enterprise Edition of Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, enabling publishers to efficiently manage and deliver high value, targeted brand advertising inventory in digital publications on tablet devices. By implementing Medialets’ full service ad serving platform, Adobe will deliver a complete advertising workflow to help publishers monetize digital publications – initial ad asset creation is authored using Adobe’s industry standard Creative Suite® 5 software, advertising inventory management and delivery via Medialets, with final publication delivery and optimization using Digital Publishing Suite.
“The integration of the Medialets platform will increase ad monetization potential for publications using Digital Publishing Suite, as well as improve the efficiency for delivering ad creative in publications on tablet devices,” said David Wadhwani, senior vice president, Creative and Interactive Solutions, Adobe. “Publishers will be able to take advantage of a set of tightly integrated solutions that cover all aspects of the advertising workflow, from content creation to delivery to analytics.”
“With Adobe as a world leader in helping people create compelling digital experiences and Medialets as the industry standard for rich media advertising on mobile, tablets and connected devices, this partnership is a natural fit,” said Eric Litman, CEO, Medialets. “Our collaboration with Adobe continues our mission of making display advertising much richer, easier to create and faster to execute for advertisers and publishers. We’re excited to see how advertisers and publishers implement Medialets with Digital Publishing Suite to drive engagement and generate higher ad revenues.”
Publishers will be able to insert a Medialets ad overlay as a placeholder for advertising creative directly within an Adobe InDesign® layout using Digital Publishing Suite authoring tools. Publishers and ad agencies who purchase the Enterprise Edition of Digital Publishing Suite, and who are also Medialets customers, will then be able to deploy rich media creative into the advertising overlay using the Medialets ad platform, allowing targeted ad serving based on ad scheduling, geolocation and other factors – as well as seamless ad delivery whether or not the device is connected to a network. These targeting and delivery capabilities, combined with the engaging nature of rich media advertising, will give content authors a high-value avenue for monetizing their digital publications. Integration with the Medialets SDK will be available with Content Viewer for iPad first. Medialets SDK will also be available with Content Viewer for Android and the forthcoming release of Content Viewer for Blackberry PlayBook, allowing publishers and advertisers to author both editorial and advertising content once and deploy to multiple platforms.
Adobe Digital Publishing Suite provides professional publishers a set of turnkey hosted services and viewer technologies to create, publish and optimize digital content directly, as well as through leading mobile marketplaces and content aggregator partners. Built on the foundation of Adobe Creative Suite® and Adobe InDesign® content authoring software, Digital Publishing Suite enables the design and delivery of innovative publisher-branded reading experiences. As an end-to-end solution, the suite of hosted services allows customers to create, distribute, monetize and analyze rich digital content across the desktop and tablet devices.
Digital Publishing Suite customers will be able to insert ad overlays in publications using Digital Publishing Suite tools. To manage and deploy advertising using the Medialets ad platform, a publisher will need to be a Medialets customer.
