Chicago’s Sun-Times Newspaper Group plans to begin using Agfa’s Arkitex workflow system to manage production later this spring at its three sites in and around Chicago.
Arkitex will act as a control center to automate the workflow and allow users to monitor production. Pages are automatically organized, prioritized and routed to multiple RIPS, imagesetters and proofers, “enabling them to run at full speed so that productivity can be increased and turnaround time shortened,” according to an Agfa release.
The company bought the system to improve productivity at the Chicago Sun-Times and the more than 100 community papers it publishes.
