Terry Holub, publisher of The Albany Ledger, has sold the weekly newspaper to Don and Christy Groves. Terms of the transaction, handled by John E. van der Linden, were not disclosed.
Founded in 1867, the Ledger, based in Albany, Mo., is one of the oldest weeklies in the Midwest. It has been published continuously for 138 years.
Holub purchased The New Sharon Son in Iowa and will run the paper with his son, Matthew.
Previously, the Groves were employees of The Home Town News in Rogers, Ark.
