E&P’s Interactive Conference Plays To Big Number
NEW ORLEANS – The Editor & Publisher 11th Annual Interactive Newspapers
Conference and Trade Show kicked off in Cajun Country today, setting
records for attendance with 131 exhibitors, over 1,200 attendees, and an
international contingent representing 35 different countries.
Dennis O’Neill, vice president/publisher for Editor & Publisher magazine
said that this year’s trade show is the biggest ever. ‘The trade show got
so large that we had to move the exhibitors to the [Ernest N. Morial]
Convention Center,’ O’Neill said.
A shuttle bus service will be provided from both the Hyatt Regency Hotel
and the LePavilion Hotel to the Convention Center during exhibit hours
Wednesday through Friday.
Also impressed with the large number of attendees, Marsha Stoltman, vice
president/general manager, E&P Conferences, believes the conference will
provide a valuable service to attendees. ‘What we are doing is taking this
business to the next level,’ Stoltman said.
Four preconference sessions were held today, covering business, content,
technology, and classifieds. The conference officially begins at 8 a.m.
Thursday with a keynote address from Carl Steidtman, director and chief
retail economist for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
