American Community Newspapers Wins 46 Awards

American Community Newspapers Inc. announced that its publications received a total of 46 awards. Twenty-seven of the awards came from the Suburban Newspaper of America 2007 Editorial Contest, others coming from regional contests.

ACN newspapers in all four of the company?s markets ? Minneapolis/St. Paul, Northern Virginia, Columbus, Ohio, and Dallas, Texas ? won SNA awards. In addition to the 27 first, second, and third place honors, they also received six honorable mentions. More than 3,000 entries were judged by the American Press Institute.

ACN publications in Minnesota, Virginia, and Ohio also won regional awards. Nine publications in Minnesota received more than 10 awards from the Minnesota Newspaper Association, including the top prize, the Lynn Smith Community Service Award.

Newspapers in Ohio were awarded with six honors at the Ohio News Photographers Association. Virginia papers won three regional awards, two from the Virginia Press Association and one from Virginia Veterinary Medial Association.
