Analyst Forecasts Better Days For Newspapers

Merrill Lynch analyst Lauren Rich Fine on Friday raised her newspaper advertising revenue forecasts for this year and next year — as well as her earnings estimates for this year for many newspaper companies — following better-than-expected April revenue results.

Fine now estimates newspaper ad revenue to be flat this year, instead of down 1.5%, and up 4.5% to 5% next year, instead of up 4%.
