‘Annie’ Adds an Artist

By: Dave Astor

“Annie,” the 80-year-old Tribune Media Services comic, has a new artist.

Ted Slampyak, who replaces Alan Kupperberg, does freelance illustration and the weekly “Jazz Age” adventure strip (http://www.JazzAgeComics.com). He’s drawing “Annie” in collaboration with writer Jay Maeder.

Harold Gray (1894-1968) created “Annie” as “Little Orphan Annie” in 1924.
