(AP) Ebony Reed, a deputy metro editor at The Detroit News who has played a key role in producing and promoting robust digital journalism, has been named The Associated Press’ assistant chief of bureau for New England.
The appointment was announced Wednesday by Kate Lee Butler, AP’s vice president for U.S. Newspaper Markets. Reed will be based in Boston and report to William J. Kole, chief of bureau for the six-state region.
Reed has worked for The Detroit News since 2006, first as assistant city editor/online and most recently as deputy metro editor/suburbs and online. She has directed and organized numerous short-term projects across multiple formats, and trained reporters and editors in new online standards.
