AP Names Director for Content Development and Alliances

Sarah Nordgren, The Associated Press’ deputy managing editor for global recruiting and state news, has been named director for content development and alliances.
 
In her new role, Nordgren will work with AP product and business development teams to define content business requirements for news products and initiatives. She will manage outreach to AP members and other partners to identify potential sources of third-party content for aggregated media products, and work with sales and market teams to sign potential partners and providers.
 
Since joining the AP in 1985, Nordgren has worked on both the news side and the business side. She served as a reporter, desk supervisor and assistant bureau chief in Chicago, and in 1999 she joined the Daily Herald in Arlington Heights, Ill., as Page One editor. She returned to AP in 2000 to direct state news reporting. Prior to joining the AP, Nordgren worked for Chicago’s City News Bureau and United Press International.
 
 Last year, she completed the Punch Sulzberger Executive News Media Leadership Program at Columbia University.
