API Cancels Conference Call: Can’t ‘Summit’ Up

The American Press Institute cancelled its press conference. Last week. API hosted a closed-door summit, “Saving an Industry in Crisis.” The organization invited 50 newspaper CEOs to attend and brainstorm ways to get the business on an upward trajectory.

API released an executive summary of the meeting but was also intending to hold a conference call today with facilitator Dr. James B. Shein; API Board Chairman Mark Contreras, senior vice president of Scripps Newspapers; and Andrew B. Davis, API president and executive director.
