The publication date for “The Last Lecture” has been set for April 8.
Hyperion paid a reported $6.7-million advance for the book, which is by Carnegie Mellon Prof. Randy Pausch “with” Wall Street Journal columnist Jeffrey Zaslow.
Pausch, who is dying of pancreatic cancer, gave a “last lecture” last September that stirred an incredible amount of interest. A big reason why the professor’s moving and upbeat comments quickly became known worldwide was a column and video Zaslow did about the talk.
Zaslow subsequently took a leave of absence from the Journal to work on what turned out to be a 206-page book.
