(Photo District News) The American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) in Philadelphia is gathering contact information, including names, addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses for photographers working with The New York Times who are dissatisfied with the current contract offer. Information should be sent to NYT@asmp.org. The information will only be used in relation to the Times’ freelance contract discussions.
This request is for members and non-members of ASMP.
An ASMP statement released to media and industry groups states: “The issues surrounding The New York Times contract are important to all working publication photographers and ASMP would like to help. Once a list of contributors has been established, ASMP will approach the Times — after consultation with members of the group — to express the views of the various photographers in an effort to create a consensus on the terms and conditions of the contract.”
