Atex of Reading, England, announced late last week that it acquired Sweden’s Mactive and its subsidiaries, including Mactive USA, Melbourne, Fla. The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, brings Atex’s worldwide workforce to over 600.
Mactive’s AdBase integrated advertising system encompasses sales, customer relationship management, rating, contract management, accounts receivable, production and Web solutions.
Atex said its position will be “further enhanced” by AdBase installations in “markets that complement the Atex presence.”
Atex said it will continue to support and upgrade its current products, while new applications will be backward compatible. Customers of both companies will be able to take advantage of the new Atex managed services model for outsourcing client applications.
Mactive Group CEO Johan Seeman takes on responsibility for Atex worldwide group advertising business. Scott Roessler, CEO of Mactive USA and Mactive Group chief technology officer, will be responsible for the advertising business in the Americas as well as the product strategy for advertising solutions worldwide.
Atex Group Ltd. recently agreed to acquire the Unisys Media business unit of Unisys Corp. (E&P Online, Nov. 27). As a result of the Unisys Media and Mactive acquisitions, Atex claims almost $1 billion worth of software installed, for which it supports more than 800 customers in more than 40 countries.
