The Citizen is going to mornings.
Editors at the Auburn-based newspaper said Monday that it will switch to morning distribution on weekdays starting Aug. 11.
The Citizen is already delivered and sold on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The decision to become a full-time morning newspaper grew out of customer comments and market research that showed most readers prefer getting their daily newspaper earlier in the day.
The 12,000-circulation Citizen is owned by Lee Enterprises, a Davenport, Iowa, company that owns 50 daily newspapers and a joint interest in four others. Lee also owns more than 300 weekly newspapers and specialty publications in 23 states.
