A “Mutts” Sunday strip sold for $10,600 on eBay in an auction to aid Hurricane Katrina relief.

All of the money will go to the Humane Society of the United States, which has been rescuing Gulf Coast animals. The auction (E&P Online, Sept. 15) drew 46 bids.

The May 2, 2004, comic was hand-colored by Patrick McDonnell, who usually doesn’t offer originals of his King Features Syndicate strip for public sale.
