Baltimore Sun Editor Mary J. Corey will bring back her paper’s Sunday magazine, Sun Marketing and Communications Director Renee Mutchnik told Elizabeth Suman at the independent online daily Baltimore Brew.
The Sun just announced the revival. Baltimore Sun Magazine will relaunch as a glossy quarterly, with the first issue to appear Sept. 12.
Publication of the magazine was halted more than 10 years ago.
Its reappearance follows the recent addition of other weekly sections under Corey, the Sun‘s former national correspondent, who last year was put in charge of the paper’s print side. In February, she oversaw the launch of Health & Style, Business & Jobs, and a revamped Live!
Promoted to senior vice president and content director in spring, Corey is the first woman to lead the Sun‘s newsroom.
