BANG Becoming Affiliate of Gannett’s

MediaNews Group?s Bay Area Newspaper Group (BANG) entered into an affiliate partnership with, Gannett Co. announced Wednesday., which is part of the Gannett Digital Media Network, will drive national sales efforts for the San Francisco-area site while BANG will sell local advertising and make content available to the site from its daily and community newspapers.

BANG will promote the community through its online and print properties that include The San Jose Mercury News and Contra Costa Times.

“As we work to extend the reach of our locally-driven communities, we will partner with other locally-focused media properties to offer value to both readers and advertisers,” General Manager Carla Wojnaroski said in a statement.

Chris Howard, BANG?s vice president of Interactive, said the group will ?leverage’s national brand reputation and sales efforts to increase ad revenue across multiple platforms — print, online and mobile.”

Launched in September 2008, is now in more 80 markets across the country.
