The southern Italian dailies Gazzetta del Sud, in Messina, and La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno, in Bari, contracted through distributor GMDE for Tera content-management systems supporting a total of more than 250 workstations.
Each paper’s order includes a GN3 editorial system, Tark archiving system, and advertising workflow based on FilePrimer and MediaPlanner.
The Tera solutions replace QuarkXPress-based Sinedita systems. The two installations also will include interfaces to existing administration systems.
Deployments are slated to begin during in summer, with estimated go-live of all sections by year end. With circulations exceeding 110,000 copies, the papers cover Sicily, Calabria, Basilicata, and Puglia.
GMDE Sales Director Carlo Caporizzi attributed system selection in to reliability, “extreme flexibility” and “the media-neutral nature of GN3,” which allows both papers to easily publish to print, Web, SMS and RSS.
Headquartered in Milan, Italy, Tera’s systems are sold in the United States by Agfa.
