Belo’s November Ad Revenue Flat

Belo reported consolidated revenue in November grew 8.6% on revenue gains at its television division.

At the company?s newspaper division, total revenue slipped 0.9%. Advertising revenue was flat. Online advertising rose 36%.

At The Dallas Morning News, total revenue was flat and advertising revenue increased slightly, up 0.6%. Retail run of press (ROP) revenue slipped 0.4% on weakness in the department store category. General ROP revenue advanced 15%. Classified revenue fell 14% with decreases in auto, help wanted, and real estate. Part run ad revenue was up 49% in gains at its high-end fashion pub, F!D Luxe and its Metro Neighbors editions. Interactive revenue grew 27%.

Total revenue at The Providence (R.I.) Journal dropped 2.9% and ad revenue decreased 1.8%. Interactive revenue grew 70% on a 77% increase in employment advertising.

At The Press-Enterprise in Riverside, Calif., total revenue declined 1.8% while ad revenue was down slightly. Classified real estate revenue rose 15%. Online advertising revenue increased 50%.

Total revenue at the TV group rose 19%.
