A-pressen, Norway’s second largest media group, with 49 newspapers among its print, broadcast and digital media outlets, will expand its use of the Saxotech Mediaware Center to five more properties, which will join the 15 sites now live on the Saxotech solution and enable the group to leverage the immediate benefits of shared content and resources.
The multi-channel workflow and content management solution will bring print and digital publishing together to provide the new properties with a collaborative environment along with access to material across all newspaper properties, unifying the newsrooms, according to Saxotech, Aalborg, Denmark, and Tampa, Fla.
“Local newspapers will continue having a strong position in the Norwegian newspaper market,” A-pressen Chief Information Officer Tom Lekang said in a statement. A key factor, he continued, is highly efficient content production for print and digital products.
Resource optimization within the Mediaware Center will guarantee that only one A-pressen content producer will be working on a given story at any one time. Planning and workflow features will enable A-pressen to send a single reporter to an event instead. Other journalists may then follow the story’s development, retrieve it from the database, and add to it from another angle. With a common template based on production of articles in the Saxotech Mediaware Center, journalists also are free to focus on writing instead of editing.
