Baldwin Technology Co., Shelton, Conn., received an order valued at more than $1.28 million from Switzerland’s Neue Zürcher Zeitung to retrofit a blanket-cleaning system on its Wifag press.
The Baldwin system relies on cloth cleaning. Installation in the Zurich plant is planned for the end of 2010.
After evaluating running cost for the existing six-year-old brush cleaning system and comparing it to that of the Baldwin system, “we believe the return on our investment will be quite significant, and the performance will be superior,” NZZ Technical Director Anton Nussbaumer said in a statement.
