“Blondie” artist John Marshall’s name began appearing on the comic this past Sunday, according to a Monday Ithaca (N.Y.) Journal article linked today on DailyCartoonist.com.

The Journal said Marshall began as an assistant artist on the strip in 2002 and became lead artist in 2005.

“Blondie,” which runs in more than 2,000 newspapers via King Features Syndicate, is written by Dean Young. He’s the son of Chic Young, who created “Blondie” in 1930.
