Dean Young will appear on Suzanne Tobin’s WashingtonPost.com chat this Friday from 1-2 p.m. eastern time.

Young collaborates with Denis Lebrun on “Blondie” — which Dean’s father, Chic, created in 1930. Dean will discuss the current “Blondie” sequence leading up to next month’s 75th anniversary of the King Features Syndicate strip (E&P Online, Aug. 22 and July 8). During the sequence, characters from other comics are appearing in “Blondie” (today, Grimmy the dog from Mike Peters’ “Mother Goose & Grimm” shows up to drink a “nightcap” from the Bumsteads’ toilet). And the “Blondie” anniversary is being referenced in other comics.

Tobin is comics page editor of The Washington Post.
